Argentine beef, one of the South American country's most iconic products, along with football and tango, has been present at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is taking place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10.

The Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA) is participating in the activity with 20 exporting companies in the sector.

«We are making the Chinese people fall in love with Argentine meat, even though until recently they didn't know us. We have done a lot, but there is still much to do.", said Ulises Forte, president of the IPCVA.

At the event, the IPCVA developed the classic “Argentine Beef” pavilion, measuring over 350 square metres, in the food and agriculture sector, with a restaurant for meat tasting, individual spaces for companies and a meeting room.

«We are very excited about this show because, unlike other markets that have depressed prices, values in China continue to improve."added Jorge Torelli, vice president of the Institute and representative of the meat industry.

The companies that accompany the IPCVA are: Gorina Refrigerator, AreeBeef, Rioplatense Refrigerator, Devesa-Azul Natural Beef, La Anónima, Central Pampeana Company, Marfrig Argentina, Santa Giulia, Urien-Loza, Rafaela Alimentos, Ecocarnes, Menudencias, Bernal Company, Recreo Refrigerator Industries, General Pico Refrigerator, Alberdi Refrigerator, Frigolar, Visom Refrigerator, Offal Exp. and Forres Beltrán Refrigerator.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina, Luis Etchevehere, traveled to China to participate in the activity.

The agricultural portfolio announced that the minister will visit the country's outposts sponsored by the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade (AAICI) and the IPCVA.
