Brazilian Foreign Minister to visit Paraguay in February to discuss bilateral issues

Brazilian Foreign Minister Ernesto Araújo will make his first official visit to Paraguay on February 3 to discuss with his counterpart, Antonio Rivas Palacios, topics on the bilateral agenda, regional affairs and issues related to the renegotiation of Annex C of the Itaipu Treaty, according to Paraguayan authorities.

The topics on the bilateral agenda are: infrastructure and connectivity integration; security, productive integration, trade and investments and the automotive agreement.

The foreign ministers of Brazil and Paraguay will also discuss the renegotiation of Annex C of the Itaipu Treaty and the situation of Mercosur, Prosur and the crisis in Venezuela.

The Paraguayan foreign minister met this Tuesday at the Government Palace with the President of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benítez, on which occasion they discussed several issues, including the visit of Foreign Minister Araújo scheduled for Monday, February 3.

“TAll the points we have in common with Brazil will be addressed on this occasion, because the objective of the visit is precisely to carry out a review of all the issues", Rivas Palacios stressed.

In this regard, he said that Brazil is a great ally of Paraguay, and highlighted the excellent relationship they maintain, reflected in the construction of international bridges, productive integration and the development of the Bioceanic Route.There will be an open agenda to discuss all bilateral issues", he finally stressed.
