Buenos Aires: Regulations for the Registration of Port Services Companies Approved

The General Port Administration (AGP) approved the Regulation for the Registry of Port Services Companies that establishes the procedure for the registration and/or re-registration of said companies in that registry, so that they can operate within the scope of the Port of Buenos Aires.

This is established by the Resolution 83 / 2018 published this Thursday (7.6.2018) in the Official Gazette. 

Items 

Subjects may request registration in the following areas:

  • CONTAINERS AND GENERAL CARGOL: Companies that operate in the loading/unloading of containers, their consolidation or deconsolidation and operations with loose and/or palletized packages.
  • BULK AND BAGGED: Loading and unloading operation of ships with cereal, by-products, solid and/or liquid products in bulk and/or bags.
  • FROZEN, CHILLED: Loading and unloading operation of perishable goods artificially kept below ambient temperature.
  • SUPPLY OF FUELS AND/OR LUBRICANTS TO VESSELS: Cargo operation, either by boat and/or truck.
  • TRANSPORT AND/OR SUPPLY OF GASES AND/OR LIQUIDS OF ALL TYPES: Distinguishing between dangerous; dangerous and flammable; highly flammable and explosive; toxic. Loading and/or unloading operation.
  • SUPPLYING WATER TO BOATS: Operation of supplying water to vessels of all types.
  • SUPPLY OF FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO ALL TYPES OF VESSELS: Operation of providing food and/or other supplies.
  • WASTE REMOVAL: Cleaning operation of oily waste from Bilge, Slop, Mud, Dirty Water, Daily Life and others.
  • PEST CONTROL: Operations corresponding to fumigations, disinfections, disinfestations, etc. in port jurisdiction and/or vessels.
  • NAVAL WORKSHOPS: Operation of any type, repair and/or installation of equipment on all types of vessels.
  • AMARRADORS: Operation of boat moorings at all docks.
  • HAZARDOUS WASTE OPERATOR: Transport of hazardous waste by land or water
  • TRANSPORT OF SPECIAL – NON-SPECIAL INDUSTRIAL AND DOMESTIC WASTE TO ITS FINAL DESTINATION. Transport of waste by land or water.
  • RESCUE AND DIVINGRescue operations for people, goods or vessels of any kind or size, and diving operations for vessel cleaning, repairs or rescues.
  • OTHERS: The list described above is not exhaustive and, consequently, individuals, companies or cooperatives may register.

Spaces

According to the regulations, those registered will be able to provide their services to the Puerto Nuevo Zone Group, Puerto Norte Zone Group, Madero Sud Zone Group, Madero Sur Zone Group and Boca Barracas Zone Group.

The new regulation is signed by Gonzalo Mórtola, head of the Port of Buenos Aires.
