The World Customs Organization (WCO) conducted a training course on post-clearance auditing for Colombian Customs, from October 24 to 28, 2022, in the city of Bogotá, official sources reported.

This capacity-building activity was developed within the framework of the cooperation program between the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the World Customs Organization (SECO-OMA) for Trade Facilitation, with the aim of assisting the DIAN in the development of a national post-clearance audit strategy.

For this purpose, the experts in the field were Shingo Tanagami from the OMA; Arthur Dizon from the Office of Trade and Customs and Border Protection of the United States and Lic. Leslye Lemos from the Fiscalization Division of the National Customs Directorate of Uruguay.

It should be noted that the post-clearance audit process is understood as a structured analysis of a company's relevant business systems; sales contracts, accounting and non-accounting records, stock of materials and other assets to assess and improve compliance with the laws.Statement from the DNA of Uruguay)
