The governments of Brazil and Argentina have reached an agreement under which Argentina has committed to removing trade barriers to Brazilian agricultural products and increasing the diversity of exports between the two countries, official sources reported.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, among the agreed topics is the approval by Argentina of the model of International Health Certificate (SCI) for the export of frog meat from Brazil to the neighboring country.
The International Zoosanitary Certificate (CZI) model was also approved for the export of pig semen from Brazil to Argentina.
On the other hand, Brazil approved the CZI model proposed by the Argentines for the export of breeding cattle from Argentina to Brazil.
"Brazil and Argentina are committed, in the spirit of their friendly and priority relationship in the agricultural field, to focus all efforts to ensure that any disputes are resolved as quickly as possible," the ministry said.
The two countries agreed that Brazil will send a mission to Argentina until July 10 to conduct maintenance audits for beef, dairy products and fish.
Within the same period, Argentina will have to send a mission to Brazil to audit bovine meat products and make an inspection visit on the sharing of the poultry area and on the removal of beehives.
