Brazilian President Michel Temer has ordered the Foreign Ministry to speed up the mechanisms for the construction of one of the three bridges, which is planned to be built with Paraguay, the national foreign minister, Luis Castiglioni, informed the press.
Castiglioni accompanied President Mario Abdo Benítez on Monday (22.10.2018) in his telephone conversation with Temer. From now on, the foreign ministries of both countries will work to accelerate the mechanisms so that in about 30 days a concrete fact can be reached and the projects executed.

Bridges over the Paraguay River
The intention is to move forward with the simultaneous construction of two bridges over the Paraguay River, one at the height of President Franco and Foz de Iguazu, and the other between the towns of Carmelo Peralta and Port Moutinho, in the Paraguayan Chaco.
Bridge over the Apá River
The third bridge project is over the Apá River, in the town of San Lazaro. Of these projects, The bridge that will connect Presidente Franco with Foz is the most advanced, with a tender already carried out, said the chancellor.
Castiglioni also announced that he will begin talks with the Paraguayan director of Itaipu Binacional, José Alderete, to advance the project for the second international bridge in the department of Alto Paraná.
Communication with Jair Bolsonaro
The foreign minister commented that presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro has communicated with the president of Paraguay this Sunday.
“He took the initiative and indicated that he has the best intentions to move forward with the relationship. Based on this conversation, we believe that this will continue with Bolsonaro, if the president is elected,” he said.
