By simplification of customs procedures implemented after the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic, the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal do Brasil) released, in record time, 500 thousand kits Rapid detection test for Covid-19.
According to the statement, in 68 minutes, the airport customs of Cumbica, in Guarulhos (San Pablo), authorized the first batch of tests imported from China.
Transported by Emirates airline, the cargo weighed 6 tons and arrived in Brazil late on Monday afternoon (30.03.2020). The rapid clearance involved a coordination between the Federal Revenue Service, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Ministry of Health, the GruAirport concessionaire (which operates the Cumbica airport) and the airline.
The shipment corresponds to the release of goods entering the country after the regular cargo test. This was the first of five batches of kits to be imported from China, through Guarulhos airport, over the next 30 days, for a total of 5 million tests.
RFB has shipped 500 thousand rapid detection test kits for the new coronavirus. The so-called “customs clearance” is the release, by the Federal Revenue, of the entry of markets in the Country after the verification of the regularity of the cargo.
