Brazil creates center for Industry 4.0 at the World Economic Forum

In partnership with the World Economic Forum, an organization that brings together leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world, Brazil announces this Wednesday (22.01.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) the installation of the First research and study center for industry 4.0. The special secretary for Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy, Carlos da Costa, and the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, will participate in the ceremony in Davos, Switzerland, the Ministry of Economy reported in a statement. release.

Call for applications C4IR BrazilThe center will begin operating in the first half of this year. The entity is a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Economy, the government of the state of São Paulo and companies with global operations.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the new center will aim to Stimulate the adoption of new technologies and improve Brazil's insertion into global value chains (where industries in one country produce or assemble components for manufacturing in other countries), increasing the competitiveness and productivity of Brazilian companies.

Among the technologies of Industry 4.0, the centre will promote the adoption of the Internet of Things (where objects communicate via the Internet) and the use of artificial intelligence in industry. The centre will seek to address the main economic and social challenges for the dissemination of these instruments, proposing solutions.

The launch ceremony of C4IR Brazil will take place at the Davos Congress Centre, where the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum takes place. Speaking on the panel will be Marisol Argueta, Head of Latin America and member of the Executive Council of the World Economic Forum; Secretary Carlos da Costa; and Governor João Doria.
