The president of the Investment and Foreign Trade Bank, José Ignacio de Mendiguren, and the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli, agreed on Wednesday (07.10.2020) on a work plan to boost exports to that market.
Thus, during a virtual meeting attended by the 10 Argentine consuls in the neighboring country, the president of Bice (Bank of Investment and Foreign Trade) and the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli, pledged to promote financing tools that favor regional productive integration, according to the information.
The initiative, which has the support of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, establishes cooperation mechanisms to deepen trade ties and encourage the reactivation of national production destined for Brazil.
During the meeting, Mendiguren highlighted the joint decision and noted: “Together with Brazil we are the sixth largest economy in the world, the fifth most populated territory, the world's leading producers of soybeans, the world's second largest reserve of shale gas and the world's eighth largest vehicle producers”. “Brazil is the natural destination for Argentine products and It is key to coordinate public policies with financing to support the exports of our companies”, Agregó.
For his part, Scioli said that the mission of the Embassy and consulates throughout Brazil is connecting regional economies from both countries to increase Argentine sales: “With this objective in mind, instruments such as those offered by BICE are crucial for Argentine companies that are already exporting to export more and for those that have never exported to start doing so.”
The work includes the information exchange on business, export and investment opportunities to increase the competitiveness of Argentine companies, and the joint organization of actions to deepen integration, according to official information.
The meeting was attended by Federico Cetrángolo, National Director of Investment Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, and representatives of binational chambers such as the president of the Argentine-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce of São Paulo (CAMARBRA), Federico Servideo, and the vice president of the Argentine-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CAMBRAS), Gabriel Sbruzzi. In addition to Mendiguren, BICE was represented by directors Carlos Brown, Raquel Kismer, Nicolás Scioli, general manager Gabriel Vienni and members of the bank's technical team.
