Trade balance registers surplus of US$ 2.445 billion in November

-

Trade exchange during November left a surplus of US $ 2.445 million, more than double the US$ 897 million profit obtained during the same month last year, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) on Monday (23.12.2019).

This result was based on the strong retraction of the imports, that fell 21% year-on-year to US$3.409 billion, against exports that rose 9,4% to reach US$ 5.854 billion.

According to Indec, in November, exports of primary products, manufactures of agricultural origin (MOA) and manufactures of industrial origin (MOI) rose year-on-year by 36,1%, 9,4% and 3,8%, respectively, while those of fuels and energy fell by 30,2%.

The trade surplus was mainly due to a drop in imports, mainly of oilseeds and fruits; land vehicles, their parts and accessories; and fertilizers; among others.

At the same time, there was an increase in exports of cereals, seeds and oilseeds, and meat and edible offal, among others. Exports of art objects and antiques stood out this month.
