Argentina's trade balance registers a surplus of US$1.369M in December

Argentina reported a positive trade balance of US$1.369 billion in December 2018, which resulted in a deficit of US$2018 billion in 3.820, the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC) said on Tuesday (22.1.2019), a figure higher than expected by analysts.

Exports and imports

Exports in December 2018 totaled US$5.282 billion, which meant a year-on-year increase of 15,4%.

Imports totaled US$3.913 billion, 27,1% less than in the same month last year.

The end of 2018 showed exports of US$61.621 billion, 5,1% more than the previous year, and imports of US$65.441 billion, which represented a 2,2% drop compared to 2017.

2017

A deficit of US$786 million the Argentine trade balance had registered in December 2017.
