Trade balance accumulated tenth consecutive month of surplus in June

-

The Argentine trade balance accumulated its tenth consecutive month of surplus, recording a positive balance of US$1.061 million in June, reported this Thursday the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), data that was the same as expected by the market.

In June, according to data published by INDEC, Exports reached 5.235 billion dollars, which represents an improvement of 1,9% year-on-year, while the Imports reached 4.174 billion dollars, a decrease of 23,5% compared to the same month of the previous year.

«The trade surplus was the result of an increase in exports, which was mainly explained by an increase in sales of fats and oils; cereals; and meat and edible offal; and a fall in imports, mainly of land vehicles, their parts and accessories; machines, appliances and electrical material and their parts; and mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products, among others», INDEC said in a statement.

In the same month of 2018, the Argentine Trade Exchange (ICA) had a deficit of 322 million dollars.
