The agreement is part of a central objective of the Argentine Government: the fight against corruption, money laundering and transnational organized crime.
 
On Tuesday (2.4.2019) Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie and his Uruguayan counterpart, Rodolfo Nin Novoa, signed a Framework Agreement between both countries for the Disposition of Confiscated Assets, which constitutes a significant advance in international legal cooperation. 
 
This is the first bilateral agreement signed by the Argentine Republic with the aim of establishing cooperation and negotiation mechanisms for asset recovery. that are located in the territory of one country and have been obtained through crimes of corruption, illicit drug trafficking and transnational organized crime, committed in the other country.
