Argentina and Uruguay advance in the placement of buoys

Uruguay is responsible for anchoring 41 buoys, of which about twenty have already been positioned at points where there were none, in a stretch between the mouth of the River Plate, opposite Punta Gorda, in Colonia, and kilometer 43,4, off the coast of Soriano, as part of the project to deepen and mark the watercourse bordering Argentina and administered by CARU, says the statement.

Nine additional buoys were repositioned in that section of the lower Uruguay, since they were in the wrong places or to replace them due to deterioration, Texeira informed the Secretariat of Institutional Communication.

The ship participated in these tasks. ROU 21 Sirius, belonging to the Navy, which is currently completing its second outing, known as the campaign, and the third is expected to take place in the second half of January to conclude the work.

The Undersecretariat of Ports, Waterways and Merchant Marine of Argentina received the last batch of 25 buoys, out of a total of 45, also acquired by CARU. There, the staff of that department will prepare the instruments for their subsequent funding.

Texeira said the remaining buoys will be reserved for spare parts and future replacements.
