Argentina, along with several Latin American countries, signed a declaration on Monday (19.11.2018/XNUMX/XNUMX) to combat corruption through international cooperation and the use of information for tax purposes, within the framework of the XI Meeting of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, which is taking place in Punta del Este.

The initiative was signed by ministers and vice-ministers of Argentina, Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay, but talks suggest that more countries will join the initiative, details the statement from the eastern presidency.

The agreement includes the start of work to maximize the use of tax information to combat these and other financial crimes, exploring other forms of cooperation as well as real-time access to data, and finally the establishment of national plans with their corresponding officials to report on progress in cooperation at the next Global Forum.

The countries also celebrate the establishment of the Latin American Academy for the Investigation of Tax and Financial Crimes of the OECD in Buenos Aires, details the Punta del Este Declaration.
