The Government created the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in order to improve the use of public resources and optimize public management towards the sector, according to the decree 532.
The regulation, published this Friday (02.08.2019) says that Luis Etchevehere, who was in charge of the Agroindustry Secretariat, created in mid-2018, was appointed to head the new portfolio. when President Mauricio Macri restructured his Cabinet to cut expenses.
"It is necessary to prioritize the areas with jurisdiction in this area, in order to promote the sector and maximize the participation of the different actors involved, with a focus on the greatest added value in the country," the decree stated.
Following the recategorization, the Government currently has 11 ministries.
