In Argentina, the AFIP created an Electronic Wallet for taxpayers to load money – including transfers from abroad – from a platform 100% online, and only providing two pieces of information: a CUIT and the amount to be transferred.
The tool, which will be made official on Thursday (15.11.2018) through its publication in the Official Gazette, will benefit more than 3 million taxpayers.
Simplify process
The AFIP Electronic Wallet, which will be available on the agency's website, simplifies the payment process since, unlike current platforms, it does not require entering the tax code or the fiscal period.
Facilitates payments
New tool will make paying taxes easier, such as advances, tax returns, interest of any kind, fines and payments on account of withholdings or collections. It covers the payment of Income Tax, Personal Property Tax, VAT and certain Social Security taxes.
Three steps
To use it, the taxpayer must complete three simple steps:
1- For to access, the person may use the home banking service of his/her bank or through the AFIP website. Once logged in, the menu will show the taxpayer the option “Load AFIP Wallet”, which he/she must complete with his/her CUIT number and an amount equal to or greater than 1200 pesos.
2- Once the process is done paid, the amount will be charged to the “Electronic Wallet” transaction, which is found in the Tax Accounts System (SCT).
3-The taxpayer will select the taxes he intends to pay in the SCT. Then a form will be generated proof of payment for these concepts and the amount initially charged will be automatically deducted.
International Bank Transfer
The AFIP Electronic Wallet contemplates the International Bank Transfer (TBI) from outside the country, a new modality of payment.

2nd stage: Monotributo and private homes
The payment of the Monotributo and the contributions of domestic workers can be made in a second stage through the AFIP Electronic Wallet, according to information from the fiscal agency.
