Argentina will export quality bovine semen to Pakistan

The national government announced the opening of the Pakistan market for frozen bovine and buffalo semen from Argentina.

This measure was carried out after the health certificate was agreed upon corresponding to this exchange of merchandise between Senasa and the Foreign Service of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

"We have already reached more than 160 markets, consolidating our goal of becoming the world's supermarket," said the Secretary of Government, Luis Miguel Etchevehere. At the same time, he pointed out that "we are positioned as a world leader in bovine genetics, which translates into roots, work and technology for the country."

Pakistan joins Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru,  main emerging markets for bovine semen exports.

Senasa complies with international recommendations for the collection and treatment of bovine semen of the Terrestrial Code of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), as well as for other exports, the Agroindustria statement said. 

Strengths of access

Position Argentina as an exporter of genetic material high value and advancing in the achievement of new emerging markets, as well as progressing in their development, are the strengths of access to the new market.

Requirement

Argentine Artificial Insemination Centers that wish to export bovine semen to Pakistan must be registered with Senasa and both these and the donors and the semen to be exported must comply with health requirements of that country, reflected in the International Veterinary Certificate model agreed between the two countries.
