The National Government established a simplified regime for low-cost imports in border areas, for permanent residents with commercial activities in said areas, whose imports are in turn from countries bordering Argentina.
This is established by the Joint General Resolution 4430/2019 of the Ministries of Production and Labor, Security and AFIP-Customs, published in the Official Gazette this Thursday (28.2.2019).
Requirements
The regulations indicate that for such imports, the SIMI certificate or other formal requirements will not be required. These goods must be new, and used or reconditioned goods will not be admitted. They may not exceed the value of US$ 500 with no more than one operation per importer and 24 operations per month, the text states.
Of course, it is necessary to be registered as an importer with the corresponding customs office, subject in this case to the requirements and sanctions that apply to all importers.
Benefits
The intervention of the Ministries of Production and Labor, Security and AFIP-Customs, give this resolution the pertinent framework for the promotion of employment and adequate control of small-scale smuggling in these border areas.
The regime will enter into force ten business days after the publication of this regulation.
