Argentina modifies the Comprehensive Import Monitoring System

-

The national government decided to modify the Comprehensive Import Monitoring System (SIMI) by incorporating it into the Economic and Financial Capacity System (CEF System).

This is established by the Joint General Resolution 4364/2018 Published this Wednesday (19.12.2018/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette with the signature of the Federal Administrator of Public Revenue, Leandro Cuccioli and the Secretary of Foreign Trade, Marisa Bircher.

Declaration

As of the entry into force of the regulations, importers who submit their declarations through SIMI will be previously evaluated by AFIP to determine the level of risks in tax and customs matters.

This means that SIMI License applications will not be approved unless there is a prior favorable opinion from AFIP regarding the taxpayer.

The measure will come into effect on January 14, 2019.
