As a result of the opening of the Canadian market within the framework of the National Government's strategy to increase the presence of Argentine products in the world, the first export of poultry meat to the North American country was carried out, according to information provided by the Argentine Foreign Ministry. The operation was carried out by the Entre Ríos company Calisa, a poultry processor of the Motta Group.
The possibility of exporting poultry meat to Canada has been in effect since October 2017, following a negotiation process with the country's trade and health authorities, carried out jointly by the Argentine Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Production and Labor, the Secretariat of Government for Agroindustry and Senasa.
Canada is one of the most developed markets in the world, with quality and food safety standards that are at the forefront of international trade. It is one of the world's top 15 importers of poultry meat, supplied by suppliers such as the United States, Brazil and Hungary, among others.
