The project to export bovine breeding animals from Argentina to Chile made progress during a meeting held in Esquel, Chubut province, on Friday (12.10.2018).
The meeting took place within the framework of the 41st Bovine Exhibition, 6th National Hereford Exhibition and 3rd Horse Meeting, and was attended by livestock producers, businessmen and authorities from Argentina and Chile.
"The meeting served to continue advancing in the project to achieve the export of bovine breeding animals from our country to Chile," said the director of the Patagonia Regional Center of Senasa, Horacio Crovetto.
Main limitations
«The main limitations are sanitary "to meet Chilean requirements for exporting bovine genetics to that country," said Senasa professional Laura Giménez.
However, Two discussion tables were formed to find solutions to possible impediments to moving forward with the export of animals, according to Crovetto.
It was an opportunity to appreciate "the firm decision by Chilean producers from Coyahique and Punta Arenas, in the regions of Aysén and Magallanes, respectively, to acquire bovine breeders, taking into account their high genetic quality," explained the director of Senasa.
The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, Guillermo Bernaudo; the Minister of Production of Chubut, Hernán Alonso; the Patagonian coordinator of Animal Health of Senasa, Gustavo Esquercia; and authorities of the Aysén Region of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of Chile and the Rural Society of Esquel also participated in the event.
