The President of the Port of Rosario and the Argentine Port Council, Ángel Elias, was appointed Chairman Elect of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), representing the ports of South America.
The appointment took place this week on the second day of the organization's 108th Annual Convention, which took place this week in Virginia, United States.
Ángel Elias is also part of the board of directors and will work from now on with the most important ports in Latin America and the Caribbean.
AAPA, chaired by Christopher J. Connor, former CEO of Wallenius Wilhemsen Logistics (WWL), is the unified voice of the port industry in the Americas, bringing together more than 130 public and private port authorities in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.
It promotes the common interests of the continental port community and provides critical industry leadership on security, trade, transportation, infrastructure, environmental and other issues related to the development and operations of the sector.
