The company set up its operations in January of last year with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a business that, according to Amazon executives themselves, has been one of the most profitable they managed to close in 2017 with some US$18.000 billion in revenue on a global scale, reported La Tercera.
Onetto, who is still in the process of being trained by the company, will lead all of Amazon's management in Chile, which until now is monitored at a regional level by Marcos Grilanda, regional manager of AWS.
The new office will be responsible for providing AWS services and dealing with clients in the country.
