Last week, the National Executive Branch formalized the plan to reduce bureaucracy in the State and allow new practices to reduce costs, encourage investment, productivity, employment, social inclusion, and gain competitiveness, through the publication of Decree 27/18 in the Official Gazette. In this framework, the Ministry of Agroindustry repeals laws and decree-laws of the National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (Senasa) in order to obtain an updated regulatory framework and improve the legal security of its users.
Chapter 1 of the Decree, referring to the Senasa repeals 15 laws and decree-laws that the agency was not applying to date since they were superseded by subsequent regulations.
"This is the first of several steps in a rigorous process of reviewing all the regulations, more than 1600, in order to achieve greater efficiency and provide better services, giving certainty about the regulations of each activity and thus greater legal security for users," said the Minister of Agroindustry, Luis Miguel Etchevehere.
To this end, each area of the Agency analyzed the regulatory framework in which it carries out its tasks and concluded that it was necessary to repeal laws and decree-laws that were outdated.
The sanction of Law No. 27.233 of December 2015 stands out, where the health of animals, plants and the safety and quality of agricultural foods were declared to be of national interest; giving the regulations in this area a public order character.

El Decree 27 / 2018, published in the Official Gazette, aims to promote the dynamic and effective functioning of public management and is based on Law No. 22.520, Decrees Nos. 438/92, 2/2017 and 64/2017, and their amendments; and Decrees 13/2015, 434/2016, 891/2017 and other regulations cited in the Decree.
