Agriculture distributed another 15 tons of sugar among 4.452 sugar mills for export to the US

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries distributed among 15 sugar mills a new extra quota for the export of raw sugar to the United States for the 2020-2021 commercial cycle, which reaches a total of 4.452,21 tons, through the Resolution 189 / 2021 published today (18.10.2021) in the Official Gazette.

For the period ending on September 30, the United States set a quota of 45.281 tons, which, after deducting the margin of polarization, represented 43.243,3 tons, already distributed last year by Agriculture.

However, on July 9, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) made official a reallocation of the import tariff quota for raw sugar for fiscal year 2021, and Argentina benefited from 3.962 extra tons, which once said margin is deducted totals 3.783,7 tons.

On August 24, the same USTR made official a new reallocation and extended the quota term until October 31, 2021, for 4.662 tons which, after deducting the polarization margin, amounts to 4.452,21.

Today's regulation provided for the allocation of 1.411,23 tons for Ledesma; 943,91 for the Concepción Sugar Complex; 530,88 for Prosal; 411,86 for José Minetti; 370,25 for Compañía Inversora Industrial; 262,43 for Arcor; 170,73 for Ingenio Río Grande; and 116,42 for the Los Balcanes Sugar Company.

Quotas of 68,97 tons were also granted to Delotte; 54,60 to Salta Refrescos; 43,74 to Ferma Agrobusiness; 34,99 to Azucarera San Jerónimo; 12,69 to Siempre Verde; 10,04 to Argenbio and 9,47 tons to Carrizo, Arquímedes Ramón Teodoro.

The regulation specified that the tonnage established for each mill must enter the North American market by October 31.

The United States annually allocates Argentina an export quota for raw sugar with a polarization of no less than 96 degrees.
