AFIP exempts the import of critical inputs from VAT

-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) decided this Tuesday (14,04.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) exempt for 60 days from the VAT Collection Regime the importation of critical health supplies to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

This was announced by the agency tonight as part of the measures implemented within the framework of the health emergency caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The measure reaches merchandise such as alcohol, disinfectants, cloth masks and respiratory devices, among others, which were included in the Decree 333 / 2020.

The new legislation follows the removal of import tariffs established by the decree at the beginning of the month.

Both regulatory instruments aim to guarantee access to medical supplies considered critical to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

During the validity of the AFIP General Resolution, importing companies will have to pay VAT but will be exempt from paying the 20% or 10% provided for by the collection regime.
