The "Jorge Newbery" metropolitan airport, located in the heart of the city of Buenos Aires, will be enabled Starting May 11 for flights to and from Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia and Peru, reported this Monday (17.02.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) through the 40 / 2020 resolution.

The ANAC measure, published this Monday (217.02.2020) in the Official Gazette says: "The internationalization of the "Jorge Newbery" Airport of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires is hereby ordered."

The only international flights that can depart from this terminal are those that do not have previous, intermediate or subsequent stops, and that use aircraft with no more than 200 seats.

The text explains that the purpose of the decision is to "allow for greater regional international traffic at the "Jorge Newbery" Airport and, thus, further promote international inbound tourism, which will have a favorable impact on the national economy."

"In the case of passengers whose itineraries begin on authorized flights, the marketing of these services must be limited to the fact that their respective itineraries end in any neighboring country or in the Republic of Peru," adds the ANAC resolution.

The same applies to travelers who complete their journey on flights authorized by this measure.

So far, the “Jorge Newbery” Aeropark It only operates international flights that have Uruguay as their destination or origin..
