Paraguay Customs launches validation process for Digital Certificates of Origin

Paraguay Customs, through the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology SOFIA, reported the start of the Pilot Plan process Validation of Digital Certificates of Origin (COD) issued to ALADI, between the Republic of Paraguay and the Federative Republic of Brazil, and the current operation with the REastern Republic of Uruguay.

According to release,as implementation stages of the same are the following:

1. Development of broadcast and reception platforms (DP)
2. Internal homologation (HI)
3. External approval (HE)
4. Pilot plan (PP)
5. Issuance of legally validated digital certificates of origin (COD)

Currently, the process of linking ALADI Digital Certificates of Origin (COD) is carried out through the Importer's Single Window (VUI) platform. (Instructive).

The gradual replacement of paper certificates of origin with Digital Certificates of Origin (COD) will contribute to facilitating trade between countries and provide information security for customs control.

It is also available in the web page institutional, a viewer of the ALADI Digital Certificate of Origin (COD), where the user can enter the XML file issued by the exporter, to verify it in an easy-to-understand and read content, also ensuring its integrity in the event of any possible modification.
