Chinese customs speed up clearance of epidemic control items

-

China has accelerated customs clearance for epidemic control supplies from abroad amid efforts to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the General Administration of Customs said on Wednesday (05.02.2020).

"In total, 377 million epidemic prevention and control items worth nearly 1.220 billion yuan (174,7 million U.S. dollars) have received necessary permits since January 24," detailed Jin Hai, an official of the administration, at a press conference.

According to Jin, customs offices across the country have opened special channels to facilitate clearance services for supplies to combat the coronavirus outbreak, offered fast-tracks for overseas donations, and ensured “zero delays” in processing imported medicines and medical devices.
