In order to define joint procedures, the National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) held a meeting with Customs in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut province, the health agency reported.
The meeting, held on Friday (02.08.2018), was attended by the Administrator of Customs Safekeeping of Comodoro Rivadavia, Ramón Orqueda, and on behalf of the Patagonia Regional Center, the regional coordinator of Food Safety and Quality, Eduardo Clapera, and the supervisor of the Regional Coordination of Plant Protection, Alejandra Verdejo.
Among the topics discussed were the procedures outlined for product alerts involving the intervention of the Agency sent by parcel, as well as various border area operations regarding transits that take place through the national territory towards the Republic of Chile.
The purpose of these types of work meetings is to standardize the intervention of the two organizations, to harmonize procedures for detecting the entry of prohibited products into the region and the country.
