Customs participated in the first shipment of humanitarian aid to Venezuela

-

The Argentine Republic has provided the first humanitarian aid to Venezuela since Tuesday (16.4.2019).

The export was carried out for the first time from an Interior Customs Office, with the San Juan Customs Office as the registration headquarters, inaugurating the Simplified System of Particular Declarations (RG 3628/2014 AFIP) for the Assistance and Salvage Shipments Regime (R. ANA No. 1096/1986), reported the AFIP Customs.

This regime establishes a simplified customs declaration procedure applicable in certain cases and which, due to their specific characteristics, require agility in the customs procedure. According to the aforementioned regulations, it refers to merchandise whose main destination is humanitarian aid.

The export consisted of food items such as rice, oil, raisins and corn, donated by the company Lomas del Sol SRL. The operation was carried out by the White Helmets Commission, which is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Presidency of the Nation, and at the time of shipment, the Venezuelan Ambassador, Dr. Elisa Trotta, and representatives of the Argentine Foreign Ministry were present.

The goods will arrive at the Venezuelan border with Colombia and it will be from there that attempts will be made to get them into that country. Distribution will be handled by the team of President in charge Juan Guaidó in Venezuela.

Details of the merchandise shipped:

  • 10.000 units of 1 kg rice packages each (10 packages)
