The General Directorate of Customs issued the General Resolution 5504/2024 which establishes procedures for the application of certain benefits to qualified OAS SECURITY subjects, allowing them to optimize the management of foreign trade operations.
The regulations, published today (24.04.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, focus on the systemic submission process, computerized and documentary customs records, and the physical-systemic, remote and selective consolidation process for the operations of the “Authorized Economic Operator” (AEO) program, within the framework of the benefits provided for in the points 18 and 19 of article 15 of General Resolution No. 5.107/2021, standard that implemented said program.
According to the official text, the national AEO program responds to the general guidelines of the Regulatory Framework to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade (SAFE) of the World Customs Organization (WCO), of which Argentina is a member country.
The implementation of the aforementioned AEO program involves modernizing existing procedures and systems in terms of security and facilitation of the logistics chain, aimed at preserving the integrity of the cargo, in line with the international demands of global trade.
For the purposes of the announced advantages, Customs indicates that this general resolution is effective immediately and the implementation of its provisions will be carried out according to the schedule that will be available on the “OEA” microsite of the website of this Federal Administration (https://www.afip.gob.ar).
