Through the initiative, promoted by the IDB/LAB, the Panamanian Chamber of Information Technology, Innovation and Telecommunications, has among its aims to promote the adaptation, absorption and diffusion of digital technologies in the general economy, especially in SMEs, and will be valid until June 30, 2021.

This alliance also seeks to promote and increase awareness of new business models, increasingly prevalent in the country and the region, based on the interaction between several key actors for the development of the ecosystem of digital ventures in Panama. The Director General, Tayra I. Barsallo, was present on behalf of Customs.

The agreement was signed by Jorge Arosemena, Executive Director of the City of Knowledge; Alberto de Icaza for Senacyt, Luis Oliva, from the Government Innovation Authority, Raquel García, from the Panamanian Chamber of Information Technology, Innovation and Telecommunications; Samuel Bardayan, from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority and Veronica Zavala from Bid Lab.
