As part of its tireless efforts to protect society and secure Dubai's ports, Dubai Customs launched the Siyaj (Fence) Initiative: The World's First 24/7 Integrated Control System.
The new system relies on a range of sophisticated artificial intelligence technologies, 24-hour rapid intervention teams, drones and the K9 dog detection unit, according to the release.
The initiative will enhance the security of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and will help protect society from the dangers of illegitimate shipments while facilitating trade and supporting the global supply chain.
The Siyaj initiative features integrated units such as the advanced technological unit system and the highly qualified equipment unit. Everything is based on a central deep learning database that is regularly fed with updated information and there are advanced inspection systems, surveillance cameras and devices. The system also includes a vessel equipped with advanced technologies to track and monitor vessels before they reach port. Rapid intervention teams are available seven days a week and coordinate with the intelligence department to take action when there is a report of suspicious goods.
