A 12% increase in the regulatory reference rate was agreed upon.
National authorities of the MiThe Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Agroindustry met with representatives of producers and freight transporters, to agree on a new rate that will serve as a reference for the grain transport service.
This rate has been established since the beginning of the new government administration through institutional mechanisms of dialogue with the different sector representatives.
Today is the fifth "dialogue table" held in the last two years and in it A 12% update to the aforementioned rate was agreed upon, which will be published in the Official Gazette.
The dialogue table is a mechanism for intersectoral participation to define the reference rate and protect competition in the provision of the service.
It was established in April 2016 through resolution 8/2016. This regulation complements the Cargo Transport Law (24.613), which establishes that the price of grain freight is freely contracted.
The dialogue table meets once a year to review the costs that make up the system and, based on this, update the values that serve as a reference for a rate that by law is defined by supply and demand.
They participated in the dialogue table, representing the carriers:
* FEDERATION OF ARGENTINE TRANSPORTERS (FETRA)
* ARGENTINE CONFEDERATION OF AUTOMOTIVE CARGO TRANSPORT (CATAC)
* ARGENTINE FEDERATION OF FREIGHT TRANSPORT BUSINESS ENTITIES (FADEEAC).
