From 12/06/19: foreign phytosanitary products will have a limit on changes of ownership

-

The National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) has outlined the changes in ownership of formulated phytosanitary products of foreign origin registered in the National Registry of Plant Therapeutics administered by the National Directorate of Plant Protection through the Directorate of Agrochemicals and Biologicals.

This is established by the Resolution 638 / 2019 published on Tuesday (11.06.2019) in the Official Gazette. The text explains that when it comes to products of foreign origin and/or whose production can be carried out indistinctly in a plant located abroad or in a plant located in the country, the transfer can only be made after one year has elapsed from its registration in the National Registry of Plant Therapeutics.

In the case of products already registered prior to this regulation, only one transfer will be accepted per year, counting from the time since the last one was made.

This regulation seeks to optimize the supervision of formulated phytosanitary products of foreign origin and facilitate controls carried out by Senasa on them, regarding origin, traceability and labeling.

The measure comes into effect as of Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
